COOL SOLAR TO CONDUCT SOLAR PV ROOFTOP PANEL INSTALLATION SEPTEMBER 29TH AND 30TH DURING BOULDER SOLAR WEEK Boulder, Colorado - September 21, 2007 - Cool Solar Incorporated, a Boulder-based solar equipment installation company, has announced that it will be performing a live installation of a photovoltaic (PV) solar electric power system on the rooftop of a North Boulder home as part of the Boulder Solar Week activities. The Kessler-Roth residence at 1947 Oak Avenue will be included as a late addition to the Boulder Tour of Solar and Green Built Homes. The public is invited to view the demonstration on either day of the scheduled installation, Saturday and Sunday, September 29th and 30th from 10am to 3pm. Participants will witness a demonstration of the installation of PV panels having a capacity of 2.4kW of electrical power, which will be sufficient to meet the needs of this modest size North Boulder home. In addition to installing PV panels on the rooftop, the required electrical interconnection equipment will be demonstrated. This electrical equipment allows the user to draw power from the utility when the sun is not shining, and to provide electricity back to the utility when it is not needed in the home. The house also has a passive solar design to provide a portion of its space heating, and an existing set of active solar thermal collectors for meeting its water and space heating needs. “Our goal is to offer high-quality services in helping customers determine the appropriate solar system to generate clean, renewable power for their electricity needs, and installing it on their home or business,” said Richard Roth, President of Cool Solar. “This solar PV installation by Cool Solar provides the ability for inquiring consumers to view a hands-on demonstration of what is involved, and ask any questions they might have.” Registration information for the Tour of Solar and Green Built Homes event, to be held on Sunday, September 30th, can be found on the Center for ReSource Conservation website at www.conservationcenter.org, or by visiting the CRC offices on the day of the event, from 9am to 1pm at 1702 Walnut Street in Boulder. Registered participants can visit any of the various homes listed on the Home Tour map from 10am to 4pm that day.
