
BOARD MEMBERS
Samuel C. Weaver, Ph.D., Chairman, has worked in the advanced materials industry for over 40 years. Founding his first company in 1970, he has served as President and CEO of nine development and manufacturing companies over the past 35 years. Most recently in 2001, Dr. Weaver completed the sale of Millenium Materials to Dyson Group PLC for cash and stock valued at over $12M.
Dr. Weaver holds a Ph.D. and M.S. in Metallurgical Engineering from the University of Tennessee, a B.S. in Metallurgical Engineering from the Missouri School of Mines, and holds nine issued patents in the area of advanced materials.
Samuel P. Weaver also serves as President of Cool Energy, responsible for the engineering management and daily business operations. Sam has led product development teams and engineering projects throughout his career, and has worked as a researcher and designer in the field of optics and optoelectronics. In addition to renewable energy, he has experience in a range of markets including telecommunications, data storage, and aerospace. Sam previously co-founded Colorado Photonics, a profitable small business providing telecom equipment distribution, and has led multiple engineering development efforts at startup companies during his career.
Sam holds six U.S. patents and has authored numerous technical publications. Sam holds a B.S. in engineering and applied science from the California Institute of Technology, and is a member of the Board of Directors of the State of Colorado Clean Energy Development Authority.
Daniel Weaver, Ph.D. is currently a Senior Manager of the informatics software development at Array Biopharma, Inc. Dr. Weaver led the development and implementation of one of the most advanced informatics systems in the world for pharmaceutical drug discovery and development. Prior to that Dr. Weaver worked at Genomica, a pharmaceutical startup company, as a Project Manager and Lead Scientist where he managed all aspects of a high-growth software development team. Dr. Weaver graduated with honors from Johns Hopkins University with a B.S. in Biology, and received a Ph.D. in Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology from the University of Colorado.

Leslie Weise – Director of Business Development, has over 15 years of experience as an engineer and as in-house counsel in the computer and networking industries predominately for Silicon Valley based Fortune 500 technology companies such as Applied Materials, Redback Networks, Honeywell and Xerox. Her business experience includes oversight of M&A activity for AlliedSignal/Honeywell, and as General Counsel of NPTest Inc., a semiconductor test equipment spin-off company of Schlumberger.
Most recently Leslie obtained a Master of Law degree in Natural Resource and Environmental Law and Policy (L.L.M.) from the University of Denver in order to focus her efforts specifically in the renewable energy technology sector. She also possesses a Master of Intellectual Property Law degree (M.I.P.) and J.D. from Franklin Pierce Law Center, and a B.S. in engineering from Boston University.
